Privacy Policy

Provided pursuant to Articles 13 and 14 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (“GDPR”) and Italian Legislative Decree 196/2003, as amended by Legislative Decree 101/2018. Last updated: August 2026.

This privacy policy describes how we process the personal data of users who visit the website agriturismosaetta-dolomiti.it, send enquiries, make bookings or use the services of Agriturismo Saettà.

1. Data controller

The controller has not appointed a Data Protection Officer (DPO), as it is not required to do so. For any request, the controller can be contacted directly using the details above.

2. Types of data processed

• Contact and booking data: first name, surname, email address, phone number, dates of stay, number of guests and composition of the party, any requests or notes.
• Data required by law for accommodation providers: guests’ identity documents and personal details for the mandatory reporting to the authorities (Alloggiati Web portal of the Italian State Police), for the municipal tourist tax and for ISTAT statistical surveys.
• Payment data: handled through the payment provider Stripe and the Smoobu booking system. The controller does not store full credit card details.
• Browsing data and cookies: data collected automatically while browsing (e.g. IP address, pages visited). See the Cookie Policy.
• Data voluntarily provided by the user via email, WhatsApp, social networks or online forms.

4. Recipients of the data

Within the limits of the purposes set out above, data may be disclosed to:

• Smoobu GmbH – booking management system;
• MailPoet – plugin installed on the website to manage the newsletter; the addresses remain in the website’s database with the hosting provider;
• Stripe – processing of electronic payments;
• Google – services such as Google Forms, Google Maps and any analytics tools; Meta Platforms Ireland – Pixel for measuring advertising campaigns (only with cookie consent) and WhatsApp Business for the messages you send us; Automattic (Jetpack / WordPress.com) – website visit statistics;
• the hosting provider and email provider of the website;
• the accountant and other advisers to the controller;
• Public authorities: Italian State Police (Alloggiati Web portal), Municipality of Borgo Valbelluna (tourist tax), Italian Revenue Agency (Agenzia delle Entrate), ISTAT, in compliance with legal obligations.

Parties processing data on behalf of the controller are appointed as processors pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR. The data are not disclosed to the public.

5. Transfer of data outside the European Union

Some providers (e.g. Stripe, Google, Meta, Automattic) may also process data outside the EU, in particular in the United States. In such cases, the transfer is based on appropriate safeguards, such as the Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission and/or certification under theEU-US Data Privacy Framework.

6. Retention period

• Booking and stay data: for as long as necessary to provide the service and, thereafter, for the period required by law;
• Accounting and tax data: 10 years, as required by law;
• Data reported to the authorities (guest registration): for the period laid down by public security regulations;
• Data for marketing purposes: until consent is withdrawn;
• Contact data for simple enquiries: for as long as necessary to handle the enquiry.

7. Rights of the data subject

Data subjects may at any time exercise the rights provided for in Articles 15–22 GDPR, including: access, rectification, erasure (“right to be forgotten”), restriction, portability, objection and withdrawal of consent given (without affecting processing already carried out).

8. Newsletter and promotional communications

Anyone who subscribes to the newsletter using the forms on the website provides their email address (and their name, if given) in order to receive updates on the activities of Agriturismo Saettà: news from the farm, offers on rooms and the restaurant, product availability and seasonal initiatives.

• Legal basis: freely given, specific and revocable consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Subscribing is optional and is never a condition for booking or purchasing.
• Double opt-in: after signing up, a verification email is sent; the address is added to the list only after the user has clicked the confirmation link.
• Welcome discount: anyone who confirms their subscription receives a 10% discount code, valid once only on their first order in the online shop. This is a benefit reserved for subscribers and does not involve any further processing of data.
• Tool used: the service is run with the MailPoet plugin installed on the website; addresses are stored in the website’s database and emails are sent from the hosting provider’s server.
• Email statistics: email opens and clicks on the links they contain may be recorded, solely to check how effective our communications are and to stop sending to addresses that are no longer active. No profiling takes place and no decisions are made based solely on automated processing.
• Withdrawal of consent: every email contains an unsubscribe link at the bottom, which takes effect immediately; alternatively, simply write to agriturismosaetta@gmail.com. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out beforehand.
• Retention: data are kept until consent is withdrawn or the subscription is cancelled.

9. Provision of data

Providing data for contractual and legal purposes is mandatory: refusal makes it impossible to manage the booking or provide the services. Providing data for marketing purposes is optional.
